Ingredients:
- Vegetable oil cooking spray
- 2 cups whole wheat flour, plus extra for dusting
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter, softened to room temperature
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Bone-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions:
- Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 375F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with vegetable oil spray or line it with a silicone mat.
- In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, oats, and baking powder. Add the chicken broth and peanut butter, mixing until a crumbly dough forms. Gather and press into a ball.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough gently for about 30 seconds until smooth. Roll into a circle roughly 10 inches in diameter and 1/2-inch thick. Cut out bone shapes with the cookie cutter and place on the prepared baking sheet. Gather scraps, reform, and cut additional bones.
- Sprinkle the cut bones with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for approximately 20 minutes until light golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
