Creamy Mustard Dip:

  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
  • Kosher salt to taste

Pretzel Bites:

  • 3/4 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • Kosher salt for topping

Instructions:

  1. Make the dip: Combine the mustard, sour cream, and honey in a bowl. Season with salt to taste. Transfer to a small serving dish and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. Prepare: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F and place a tray lined with paper towels nearby. Heat 3 quarts of water in a large pot until boiling.
  3. Shape the dough: Divide the pizza dough into four portions and roll each into a rope about 3/4-inch thick. Cut each rope into roughly 1-inch pieces.
  4. Boil: Stir the baking soda into the boiling water. Working in batches, add half of the dough pieces and boil for about 45 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on the paper towels. Repeat with the remaining dough. Gently pat with a paper towel to remove excess foamy water.
  5. Prepare egg wash: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 1/2 tablespoons water.
  6. Assemble: Dip each dough bite into the egg wash, letting any excess drip off, then arrange on the baking sheet with about 1 inch between each. Lightly sprinkle the tops with salt.
  7. Bake and serve: Bake until the bites are a deep golden brown, about 13 to 15 minutes. Serve warm with the creamy mustard dip.
