- Equipment to have on hand: toothpicks, a muffin pan, a punch bowl, and glasses. Get ready to unleash your inner mad scientistthis spooky punch will wow your Halloween crowd!
- Make the eyeball ice cubes: Slice away and discard the top quarter of each orange. Gently scoop out the insides (a grapefruit spoon or small knife can help), saving the flesh for later. Place a blueberry at the bottom of each orange using a toothpick to hold it in place. Cut 8 shallow slits around the rim of each orange to make tabs. Fold back every other one to create a lash effect. For the iris, position a blueberry inside each lychee, then attach each lychee onto the oranges by pushing onto the toothpicks, taking care not to go all the way through. Arrange the orange shells in the muffin pan. Slowly pour in pineapple juice, stopping about 1/2 inch from the top. Freeze until solidabout 4 hours or overnightremoving the toothpicks halfway through when partly frozen. These creepy eyes will stare back as they chill your punch to perfection!
- To make the punch: Blend the strawberries with vodka and triple sec until smooth. Transfer this mixture to a punch bowl. Pour in the pineapple juice and stir to mix. Top off with the ginger ale. Finally, drop in the eyeball ice cubes. Watch the colors swirl into a zombie-worthy brew that screams Halloween fun!
- For the black sugar rim: Pour the sanding sugar onto a flat plate. Place the reserved orange juice in a shallow bowl. Dip glass rims into the juice, then press into the sanding sugar to coat before serving the punch. The dark rims add that final ghoulish touchserve and scare!
- Tip: Depending on how open your lychees are, you might want to use 2 blueberries inside each one for a more realistic "eye." Impress your guests with these eerie details and make your party unforgettable!
