- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup vanilla pudding mix
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 3/4 cup root beer syrup, ideally Triple XXX brand
- 8 ounces butter, softened, plus 8 ounces butter melted
- Vegetable oil, for greasing the pan

- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, vanilla pudding mix, powdered sugar, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, root beer syrup, softened butter, and 3/4 cup water until smooth. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, then fold in the melted butter for extra richness.
