Level: Easy | Yield: 1 tree | Total Time: 1 hr 21 min | Prep: 20 min | Inactive: 1 hr | Cook: 1 min
Ingredients
- 24-ounce white chocolate bar
- 9-inch Styrofoam cone
- Aluminum foil
- 3 (10-ounce) packages macaroon cookies
- White sanding sugar
- Red hot candies
Special Equipment
- 9-inch Styrofoam cone
- Aluminum foil
- 4-inch red ramekin
- 8-inch cake round
- Small star ornament or cookie (optional)
Instructions
Step 1 Build the Tree: Melt the white chocolate in a glass bowl using the microwave. Cover the Styrofoam cone with aluminum foil. On a baking sheet lined with foil, use the melted white chocolate to attach macaroon cookies to the cone, working from bottom to top. Once all macaroons are secured, drizzle the tree generously with more melted white chocolate. Sprinkle with white sanding sugar and decorate with red hot candies for a festive touch. Place the tree in the refrigerator to allow it to set completely.
Step 2 Create the Base: Set the tree onto a red ramekin placed in the center of the cake round. Decorate the round with additional white sanding sugar for an elegant presentation. Top with a star-shaped cookie or ornament if desired. Return to the refrigerator to set.
Step 3 Final Touch: Once the chocolate is fully set, remove the tree from the refrigerator and display it on a stand for a stunning centerpiece that's as delicious as it is beautiful.
