  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 8 small sugar cones
  • 2 pints mint chocolate chip ice cream
  • Sprinkles or mini chocolate chips, to garnish

Directions

  1. Whip up a handy cone holder: Grab a small cardboard box like a shoebox that fits in your freezer. Flip it upside down and use a sharp knife to cut eight evenly spaced X-shapes on the bottom.
