Whip up this irresistible summer sangria and transport your taste buds to sunny days! Crisp white wine mingles with zesty lemon liqueur and fizzy lemon soda, elevated by a vibrant cilantro syrup for a fresh twist on lemonade that will wow your guests.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro leaves
- One 750-milliliter bottle of Pinot Grigio or any other dry, crisp white wine
- 1/2 cup lemon-flavored liqueur, such as limoncello
- Two 11.5-ounce cans of lemon soda, like San Pellegrino Limonata
- 1/2 cup soda water
- 2 lemons, thinly sliced
Preparation Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup of water and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add the cilantro leaves. Allow the mixture to cool, then pour the syrup into a 3-quart pitcher.
- Pour the white wine, lemon liqueur, lemon soda, and soda water into the pitcher and stir everything together. Add the lemon slices, cover the pitcher with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to chill the sangria.
- When ready to serve, fill 8 glasses halfway with ice, then pour the sangria and lemon slices into each glass.
