Ingredients

  • Two 10-ounce packages of frozen chopped spinach
  • One package frozen artichoke hearts
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
  • A dash of nutmeg, more if desired
  • 1 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Asiago or Parmigiano-Reggiano (choose a shred slightly larger than finely grated, usually found in tubs)
  • Thick sesame breadsticks, for dipping
  • Celery hearts, trimmed (for dipping)
  • Pita crisps topped with Parmesan and herbs (try Stacy's brand if available)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400F and get ready to create this irresistible, creamy dip that'll have everyone reaching for more.
  2. Defrost the spinach in the microwave on the defrost setting for 10 minutes, then squeeze out all liquid with a clean dish towel. Do the same for the artichoke hearts (about 6 minutes), squeeze dry, and finely chopthese fresh flavors make it unforgettable.
