  • 8 ounces ground or finely chopped country ham
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3 dashes hot pepper sauce
  • 3 pinches dry mustard powder
  • 8 ounces unsalted Virginia peanuts, finely chopped
  • 1 maraschino cherry half
  • Assorted crackers, for serving

  1. In a large mixing bowl, blend together the ground ham, cream cheese, hot pepper sauce, and dry mustard powder until thoroughly combined. Shape the mixture into a ball, then roll it in the chopped peanuts until evenly coated. Place the maraschino cherry half on top as a garnish. Serve the cheese ball on a cheeseboard alongside a variety of crackers.
