- In a large Dutch oven or heavy pot over medium heat, cook the bacon, stirring now and then until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Leave the bacon fat in the pot and keep the heat at medium.
- Add lima beans, corn, chicken broth, cipollini onions, and garlic to the pot, then bring to a simmer. Cook until the vegetables are warmed through, approximately 15 minutes.
- Stir in the shredded kale and cook until it starts to soften and wilt, around 3 to 5 minutes.
