Ingredients

  • One 8-ounce block cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar
  • 3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon, finely grated
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup roasted salted pistachios, finely chopped
  • Crackers or sliced bread, for serving

Directions

  • In a medium bowl, blend the cream cheese, Cheddar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon zest, cayenne, and a few turns of black pepper until smooth and well combined.
  • Place a large sheet of plastic wrap on the counter and transfer the cheese mixture onto it. Shape the mixture into a 6-inch log using the plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator until firm, about 1 hour.
  • Spread the chopped pistachios on a large plate. Remove the cheese log from the plastic wrap and roll it in the pistachios until completely covered.
  • Serve immediately with crackers or sliced bread, or wrap in fresh plastic and refrigerate for up to 1 day before serving.
