Whip up this irresistibly flavorful Garlic Butter Shrimp with Miso and Basil in just 12 minutes! Juicy shrimp sauted in garlicky butter with umami-packed miso, sweet honey, and fresh basil will tantalize your taste buds and impress any dinner guest. Ready to create a quick, gourmet meal that'll have everyone asking for seconds?
- 1/2 stick (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
- 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp, ideally extra jumbo (16/20 count), patted dry
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon red or white miso paste
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped basil
- Over medium-high heat, melt the butter in a large, heavy skillet. Once melted, add the shrimp along with a few pinches of black pepper. Cook the shrimp until they turn pink, about 20 to 30 seconds on each side.
- Add the garlic and cook for approximately 20 seconds until aromatic, taking care not to burn it. Immediately stir in the soy sauce, miso paste, and honey to coat the shrimp evenly. Remove from heat, mix in the basil, and serve right away.
