Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons butter, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus extra for optional sprinkling
- 4 ripe bananas, peeled, sliced lengthwise, then halved
- 1 cup banana liqueur
- 1 cup 151 proof rum (suggested: Bacardi 151)
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- Fire up your kitchen with this spectacular dessert! In a large saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Add the banana pieces and cook in the syrup until they just start to caramelizeabout 2 minuteswithout breaking down. Remove from heat, then carefully pour in the banana liqueur followed by the rum. Return to heat.
