Ingredients
Bread:
- 1 large French bread loaf, split lengthwise in half
- 4 tablespoons melted garlic butter
Pineapple:
- 1 tablespoon steak seasoning
- 6 canned pineapple rings, patted dry
Pizza Toppings:
- 2 cups pizza sauce
- 16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- A generous pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
- 6 ounces deli ham, diced small
- 1/2 cup chopped sweet onion
- Spicy honey for drizzling (optional)
Special equipment:
- Nonstick aluminum foil
Instructions
- For the bread: Preheat your oven to 425F. Brush the inside portions of the French bread halves with melted garlic butter. Arrange them buttered side up on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the tops are nicely golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- For the pineapple: Sprinkle the steak seasoning evenly on both sides of the pineapple rings. Place them on a baking sheet lined with nonstick aluminum foil. Roast for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until caramelized. Remove and chop roughly.
- To assemble the pizza: Spread the pizza sauce and then sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the bread. Add crushed red pepper flakes, diced ham, chopped onion, and the caramelized pineapple pieces on top. Bake the pizzas again for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling. For a golden top, you can briefly broil as desired. Serve sliced, drizzled with spicy honey if you like.
