  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (choose hot or mild)
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 to 4 cups whole milk, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper, add more to your liking
  • Warm biscuits for serving

Instructions

Whip up this irresistible sausage gravy that'll have everyone rushing to the table! It's simple, quick, and downright delicious.

  1. Using your fingers, pull small chunks of sausage apart and add them evenly to a large, heavy skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until the sausage loses its pink color. Lower the heat to medium-low.
  2. Sprinkle half of the flour over the browned sausage and stir thoroughly so it absorbs the flour. Gradually add the remaining flour a little at a time. Continue stirring and cook for about 1 minute more, then slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly.
  3. Keep cooking the gravy, stirring often, until it thickens to your desired consistencythis usually takes about 10 to 12 minutes. Season with the seasoned salt and ground black pepper; keep stirring until the gravy becomes thick and rich. If it thickens too quickly, add additional milk, half a cup at a time, until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Serve the sausage gravy generously over warm biscuits right away! Your family will love this comforting classic.

Raspberry Protein Muffins Recipe

These protein-packed raspberry muffins are a healthy addition to your breakfast or afternoon snack, thanks to the creamy almond butter, rich Greek yogurt, nutty almond flour and touch of vanilla-flavored protein powder, providing 10 grams of protein per serving. The tart raspberries and touch of cardamom add brightness and punch to these delicious treats. While these muffins add a boost of protein, they shouldn’t be considered a full meal replacement. We recommend pairing with a hard-boiled egg or cup of Greek yogurt for even more protein.
