Ingredients
- 6 small croissants
- 5 ounces Brie cheese wedge, rind removed and sliced into 1/4inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons Smucker's Apricot Preserves
- 3 tablespoons chopped glazed pecans
- 3 teaspoons dark brown sugar
- Crisco Butter Flavor NonStick Cooking Spray
- Cinnamon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the croissants lengthwise and lay them open. Place Brie slices evenly across the bottom halves, then spread about 1/2 tablespoon of apricot preserves over the cheese. Sprinkle with about 1/2 tablespoon chopped glazed pecans and 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar. Top with the other half of each croissant.
- Warm a large skillet over medium heat and coat with nonstick cooking spray. Lightly spray the sandwiches (tops and bottoms) and place them sprayside down into the skillet. Cover and cook 45 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown. Lightly spray the top sides before flipping, then brown the other side.
- Remove the sandwiches from the pan and let them rest, covered, for about 3 minutes. Slice diagonally, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired, and serve warm.
- Glazed pecans are typically available in the nut section of most grocery stores' snack aisles.
Notes: For even melting, use thin Brie slices and don't overfill the croissants. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
