Instructions
Citrus Vodka:
- Wash and thoroughly dry the lemon, lime, and orange. Using a zester or a sturdy vegetable peeler, remove the skin from each citrus fruit to form thin strips.
Pepper Vodka:
- When working with peppers, it's recommended to wear rubber gloves; certain types can irritate or even burn the skin. Wash and dry the peppers, then slice them lengthwise into thin strips. For a more intense flavor, keep the seeds inside. For a milder taste, remove them. Be careful not to get any juice near your eyes.
For Both Recipes:
- Clean the bottle with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry completely.
- Carefully add the citrus peels or peppers to the bottle, pour in the vodka, and cover the top (do not seal yet).
- Place the bottle in the refrigerator and let the mixture steep for at least 3 hoursideally up to 2 days for a stronger flavor.
- Before presenting, top off the bottle with more vodka (the infusion ingredients will absorb some of the liquid). Seal the bottle with a cork or glass stopper and secure with sealing wax. If desired, wrap a thin metal wire or fabric ribbon around the neck of the bottle.
