Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped or shaved
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 jalapenos, stems removed, cut into quarters lengthwise
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions:

  1. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl or large measuring cup and set a fine-mesh strainer on top.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, cinnamon stick, and jalapeno quarters, including the seeds. Warm gently over low heat, bringing to a gentle simmer, and allow it to infuse for 15 minutes. Once infused, stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the hot milk mixture through the strainer over the chocolate, discarding any solids left behind. Quickly whisk the chocolate and milk together until smooth. Divide equally among 4 mugs.
  4. Garnish each mug with mini marshmallows and serve immediately.
