Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe yellow papayas
  • 8 ounces fresh blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cloves
  • 1-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons arrowroot powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Halve the papayas and scoop out the seeds, reserving some for garnish or to stir into the finished sauce. Arrange the papaya halves whole or slice them in a fan pattern on your dessert plates.
  2. Combine the blueberries, sugar, water, cloves, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, allowing the flavors to meld.
  3. Mix the arrowroot powder with lime juice until smooth, then stir into the boiling berries. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring gently. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired. Fold in the reserved papaya seeds if using.
  4. Spoon the warm or cooled blueberry sauce over the papaya and serve immediately for a refreshing, vibrant dessert.
