Ingredients
- 3 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
- 1/2 cup clarified butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 16 pitted dried plums
- 16 toasted almonds
- 4 ounces cream cheese, cut into 16 cubes
- Powdered sugar for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375F (190C).
- Place a sheet of phyllo on your work surface with the shorter edge facing you. Lightly brush it with clarified butter and sprinkle generously with sugar. Cut the sheet into 4 long, even strips.
- Carefully open each dried plum and fill it with a cube of cream cheese and one toasted almond. Position one stuffed plum at the end of each phyllo strip. Fold the strip over the plum repeatedly to create a triangular shape, like folding a flag. Brush the exterior with butter and top with more sugar.
- Repeat this process with the remaining phyllo sheets and fillings. Arrange the triangles on a baking sheet and bake for 20 to 30 minutes until they achieve a light golden brown color. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar for an elegant finishing touch.
