Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel
- 1 lb jumbo lump crabmeat, picked over for shells
- 2 medium Roma tomatoes, cored, seeded and chopped (about 2/3 cup)
- 1 ripe but firm avocado, diced
- Kosher salt, to taste
- 4 to 6 Boston lettuce leaves
- Lemon wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Whisk together the mayonnaise, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and grated lemon peel in a medium bowl. Scoop out about half of this mustard sauce into a small separate bowl to use as a topping later.
- Fold the crab, 1/2 cup of the diced tomatoes, and the avocado into the remaining sauce, being gentle so the crab stays in larger pieces. Season lightly with kosher salt.
- Arrange Boston lettuce leaves in the base of 4 to 6 cocktail or martini glasses. Divide the crab mixture evenly among the glasses. Top each with a dollop of the reserved mustard sauce, scatter the remaining tomatoes over the top, and garnish with lemon wedges.
