Imagine the magic of Christmas morning: family gathered, no hours slaving over the stove. This easy hack transforms canned cinnamon rolls into adorable tree shapesbake, frost with vibrant green icing, and let everyone sprinkle on holiday cheer. Festive, fun, and ready in minutes to spark joy!

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • One 17.5-ounce tube refrigerated large cinnamon rolls (for example, Pillsbury Grands!)
  • One 16-ounce container cream cheese or vanilla frosting
  • Green food coloring
  • Holiday-themed sprinkles
  • 5 yellow candy-coated chocolates (such as M&Ms) or small yellow gumdrops

Cook Mode: Keep screen awake for hands-free baking.

  1. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350F. Lightly coat a rimmed baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  2. Open the tube of cinnamon rolls and set the included icing aside; place the rolls on a large cutting board or clean surface. Unroll one cinnamon roll into a long rope of dough. Fold it back and forth in an accordion style, making each fold a bit wider than the one above so it resembles a Christmas-tree silhouette. Move the shaped tree to the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining rolls, spacing the trees apart, and bake until golden and puffed, about 15-17 minutes.
  3. While the trees bake, mix green food coloring into the container of frosting with a rubber spatula until you get the shade you want (we used roughly 30 drops).
  4. When the trees are done, let them cool on a wire rack. Put the reserved cinnamon-roll icing into a small resealable plastic bag and chill briefly in the refrigerator.
  5. Once the trees are cool enough to handle, spread the green frosting over each tree. Decorate with holiday sprinkles. Snip a tiny corner from the chilled bag of reserved icing and pipe a garland on each tree. Top each tree with a yellow candy to mimic a star.
