Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 large egg white, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups milk, room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for greasing the waffle iron)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • Suggested toppings: Maple syrup, fruit preserves, fresh fruit, yogurt, or a scoop of ice cream

Directions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high heat and get ready for fluffy perfection.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and saltyour base for golden waffles is set!
  3. Separate the two eggs, reserving the yolks and placing all egg whites (plus the extra white) in a clean bowl for whipping into airy peaks.
