Ready to create kitchen magic? Follow these simple steps for manicotti that melts in your mouth!
- Warm a heavy medium skillet over medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon of the olive oil, the chopped onion, and the ground beef. Season with salt and pepper and saut until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool.
- Lightly brush 1 teaspoon of oil across a large baking sheet. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the manicotti until just tender but still firm to the bite, about 4 to 6 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the pasta to the oiled baking sheet and let cool.
- In a bowl, combine the ricotta with 1½ to 2 cups of the mozzarella, ½ cup of Parmesan, and the chopped parsley. Add the minced garlic and season with salt and pepper to taste, then mix well. Fold the cooled beef mixture into the cheese mixture until evenly combined.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Brush the remaining 2 teaspoons of oil inside a 13 by 9 by 2-inch glass baking dish. Spread 1½ cups of marinara sauce across the bottom of the dish. Fill each manicotti tube with the cheese-and-meat filling, arrange the stuffed pieces in a single layer in the baking dish, and spoon the remaining sauce on top.
- Scatter the remaining 1½ cups of mozzarella over the sauced manicotti, followed by the remaining ½ cup Parmesan. Dot the top with the butter pieces. Bake uncovered until the dish is heated through and the sauce bubbles around the edges, about 30 to 35 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy the cheesy bliss!
