Transform simple red bell peppers into a vibrant, tangy delight with this easy recipe! Perfect for adding a burst of sweet-and-sour flavor to salads, sandwiches, or charcuterie boards.
Ingredients:
- 3 to 4 red bell peppers, quartered and seeds removed
- 1 cup white distilled vinegar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon pickling spices
Instructions:
- Preheat your broiler for that perfect char.
- Position the peppers under the broiler until their skins blister and they soften, about 7 to 9 minutes. Steam them in a sealed paper or plastic bag for 15 minutes to effortlessly peel off the skins. Discard the skins for silky texture.
- Pack the peeled peppers into a sterilized, heat-safe jar with a tight-fitting lid. In a medium non-reactive saucepan, boil the vinegar, sugar, water, and pickling spices. Pour the hot brine over the peppers, seal, and let marinate at room temperature for 2 days. Enjoy the magic of pickled perfection!
