Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1/2 cup water in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Gently swirl the pando not stiruntil the mixture turns a deep amber color, about 12 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and carefully whisk in 1 cup heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 teaspoon sea salt.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons bourbon. Let the sauce cool completely.
  4. Transfer to jars and refrigerate. Makes about 2 cups.
