Ingredients

  • 5 large garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 1/2 pounds top-round London broil

  2. Place the London broil and the marinade in a heavy-duty resealable plastic bag. Remove excess air, seal, and set the bag in a shallow dish. Refrigerate and marinate the steak for at least 4 hours, turning occasionally; it can marinate up to 24 hours for deeper flavor.
  3. Before grilling, let the steak come to room temperature. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Grill on an oiled grate 5 to 6 inches above hot coals, about 7 to 9 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Slice the steak thinly against the grain at a 45-degree angle and serve with fresh tomatoes.
