Instructions
Prepare the Seasoning & Sauce
- Mix all BBQ seasoning ingredients in a bowl until well blended. Store in an airtight container for up to six months.
- Combine all BBQ sauce ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook uncovered, stirring often, for about 1 hour and 15 minutes until thickened.
Make the Meatloaf
- Set your oven to 350F (175C) to preheat.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the BBQ seasoning, crab boil seasoning, soy sauce, beaten egg, 1 cup of the prepared BBQ sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Heat olive oil in a saut pan over medium-high heat; add the chopped onion, diced bell pepper, salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables soften. Remove from heat and add this to the wet ingredients bowl.
- Pour this mixture into a bowl containing the ground turkey. Stir in the bread crumbs and mix everything together thoroughly using your hands.
- Place the blended meat on a baking sheet or dish. Form the meat into an oval or rectangular loaf shape by hand. Alternatively, press the meat into a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Spread the reserved 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce over the top.
- Bake for 35 minutes. Take the loaf out, and return it to the oven for an additional 20 minutes until cooked through.
