Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons small-diced onion
- One 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- One 28-ounce can plum tomatoes
- 1/2 cup beer, such as Heist Brewery Hive Five
Directions:
- Warm a medium-to-large saucepan over moderate heat. Add the olive oil, garlic, and onions, then saut until aromatic, about 2 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste, brown sugar, yellow mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined. Mix in the apple cider vinegar and simmer for 1 minute to blend the flavors.
- Add the canned plum tomatoes and beer, then pure everything with an immersion blender. Simmer on low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavors meld, about 45 minutes. Your sauce is ready to dazzledip, baste, or bottle it up!
