Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons small-diced onion
  • One 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • One 28-ounce can plum tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup beer, such as Heist Brewery Hive Five

Directions:

  1. Warm a medium-to-large saucepan over moderate heat. Add the olive oil, garlic, and onions, then saut until aromatic, about 2 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste, brown sugar, yellow mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined. Mix in the apple cider vinegar and simmer for 1 minute to blend the flavors.
