Ingredients
- 4 veal medallions, 1 ounce each
- 2 slices prosciutto
- 2 slices fontina cheese
- Flour, for dusting
- 1/2 cup olive oil, for sauting
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Layer two veal medallions with prosciutto and fontina cheese, then top each with another medallion to form sandwiches. Dust lightly with flour for a golden crust.
- Heat olive oil in a large saut pan over medium heat. Brown the veal sandwiches on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side, until irresistible.
- Drain excess oil, then add mushrooms, Marsala wine, salt, and pepper. Simmer 4-5 minutes to create a rich, aromatic sauce that elevates every bite.
- Plate the veal and generously spoon the savory mushroom sauce over top. Savor this Italian classic that "jumps in the mouth"!
