Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 slices caraway rye bread
  • 1 slice provolone
  • 1 slice Swiss cheese
  • 4 ounces hot pastrami
  • 2 to 3 ounces sauerkraut
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Warm a flattop grill or skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each bread slice and place buttered side down on the grill. Top one slice with provolone and the other with Swiss. Grill until bread is golden and cheese melts, about 5 minutes, then remove.
  2. While bread toasts, pile pastrami and sauerkraut separately on the grill. Warm 1 to 2 minutes per side.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on both bread pieces, mustard on one. Layer half the pastrami and sauerkraut on one slice, top with the other slice. Slice in half and serve hot for pure sandwich bliss!
