Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 cups water
- 2 pears, peeled and coarsely grated
- 1-inch piece ginger, sliced into thin 1/8-inch rounds
Cooking Instructions
Place the water, grated pear, ginger slices, and sugar into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until the pears are very soft, about 30 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before serving.
