- Combine the diced soppressata and provolone in a medium bowl. Lay out 4 bread slices on your workspace and distribute the meat and cheese mixture evenly, about 1/3 cup per slice. Top with the remaining bread slices. Spread softened butter thinly and evenly on both sides of each sandwich, using about 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter per sandwich.
- Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and place 2 sandwiches inside. Cover with a lid and cook until the bread turns evenly golden, roughly 2 minutes. Flip the sandwiches, cover again, and cook for about 2 more minutes until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches. Serve alongside the fig jam.
