Ingredients
- 1 loaf rustic Italian bread (such as ciabatta or pane rustica)
- 4 teaspoons honey mustard
- 12 ounces sliced provolone cheese
- 4 ounces thinly sliced Black Forest ham
- 4 ounces thinly sliced roast turkey breast
- 4 ounces thinly sliced Genoa salami
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
Special equipment: a two-burner grill pan or a panini press
Instructions
- Slice the bread horizontally in half and slather both cut sides with honey mustard. Layer the bottom half with half the provolone, followed by ham, turkey, salami, and the remaining provoloneensuring cheese kisses the bread on both sides with meats tucked in the middle. Crown it with the top half.
- Butter the top of the bread, flip the whole sandwich carefully, and butter the bottom too. Slice into your desired number of sandwiches.
- Heat a large two-burner grill pan over medium or fire up your panini press. Place sandwiches on the grill, press down with a spatula, and cook until the bottom is gorgeously golden, about 3 to 4 minutes. Flip, press again, and grill until the other side matches and cheese oozes dreamily, another 3 to 4 minutes.
