Ingredients

  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger root
  • 1/2 cup of raw sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 a lime plus some lime pulp for decoration
  • 1/2 bunch of fresh mint leaves, with extra mint leaves cut into thin strips for garnish
  • 1/2 cup of dried hibiscus flowers
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Pour the water and ginger into a large saucepan and bring to a rolling boil over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the sugar, lime juice, mint leaves, and hibiscus flowers.
  3. Take the pot off the stove and allow the mixture to steep for around 20 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid into a pitcher, then serve over glasses filled with ice.
  5. Finish by adding mint strips and lime pulp as garnish.
